How to get to our event 


By Car


At M20 Junction 8 take the A20 exit to Ashford/Maidstone then turn off the roundabout at the exit signposted Ashford A20. At the next two roundabouts continue straight across onto A20 Ashford Road. Travel along the A20 through Harrietsham until signposts Lenham village. Turn right into centre of  the village. At crossroads in the village head straight ahead on Old Ashford Road past the church. Continue out of the village approximately 300 yards turn left into Groom Way. There is car park in front of the community centre.

Our team of trained experienced staff, most of them volunteers, advise, assist and negotiate on behalf of all those seeking help to resolve their problems.


The service also collects evidence of injustice (Research and Campaigns) which is used to influence national legislation and local policies.

Literacy Support Charity

Beanstalk recruits, trains and supports volunteers to provide one-to-one literacy support in primary schools to children who have fallen behind with their reading. 

Beanstalk trained reading helpers transform the lives of the children they support, turning them into confident, passionate and able readers.


Becoming a Beanstalk trained reading helper is also a great voluntary experience. You will: 

  • Have the opportunity to develop and use your skills to help children in your local community

  • Get the chance to make new friends and share experiences with other volunteers

  • Receive training and ongoing support 

  • Have access to books, games and activities to use in your sessions

The Centre for Independent Living Kent (CiLK) is an independent organisation run, controlled and managed by disabled people. Supporting disabled people in Kent and Medway to have choice and control, to live an independent life


We can support you with: peer support, advocacy, disability equality training, information about independent living and using Direct Payments. We also organise outreach programmes and Personal Assistant user groups.


Information is vital to anyone who wishes to live independently. We don’t have the answer to every issue, but we do have information that covers many aspects of independent living and a network with other advice and support services.

Community Support Unit

Kent Police mobile station vans stop at Isolated locations for an hour each visit to enable residents to drop by and speak to a PCSO about any policing concerns or local issues.
